Put toovar dal in a non stick pressure cooker, add onion, tomato, green chilli, grated ginger and 2cups water and mix well.
Cover and cook on high heat under pressure for 5 mins, reduce to low heat and cook again 5mins.
Transfer pressure cooked dal in a non stick pan, add sufficient water and cook on low heat.
Add salt, Turmeric powder, coriander powder and mix well and cook till the dal is done.
Transfer the prepared dal in a serving bowl.
For tempering add ghee in a non stick pan add cumin seeds, garlic, curry leaves, dried chilli, red chilli powder and mix well.
Pour the tempering over the dal garnish with coriander and serve.
